1. Where does the traveler find himself? What problem does he face?
Ans. The poet finds himself in a yellow wood. He finds two roads diverging. His problem was that being the alone traveler he could not travel both the road at the same time.
 
2. Discuss what these phrases mean to you:
        (i) a yellow wood
        Ans. A Yellow wood means a wood wearing yellow color. In autumn leaves ripe and lend to the forest a hue of yellow color.
        (ii) it was grassy and wanted wear.
        Ans.The road the poet decided to travel was an untrodden one. It was covered with thick grass and the grass was fresh and untrodden. There was no sign of wear and tear in the grass.
        (iii) the passing there
        Ans.The passing there means going through the road the poet had decided to travel.
        (iv) leaves no step had trodden black
        Ans. The leaves lying on the roads appeared fresh and untrodden. No step has trodden and turned them black.
        (v) how way leads on to way
        Ans. Roads are linked together. One way remains linked with other ways connected to it.
 
3. Is there any difference between the two roads as the poet describes them.
        (i) in stanzas two and three?
        (ii) in the last two lines of the poem?
        Ans. Yes, there is a difference between the roads. The road that the poet wanted to travel was covered with untrodden grass. No traveler seemed to step into that as the grass wanted to wear. It was the road less traveled by. The other road was no like this one.
 
4. What do you think the last two lines of the poem mean? (Looking back, does the poet regret his choice or accept it?)
Ans. Between the two roads diverging in the forest, the poet took the one that was less traveled neglecting the other road. His choice made all the differences in his life. The poet accepted his decision. He did not regret his decision.
